So , what does International Women’s Day mean to McVicar ?

We are a relatively new company, so we are very excited this is our first International Women’s Day within the office !

This doesn’t mean that we don’t value our female employees every other day of the year - but today especially.

we're not only celebrating the achievements of women around the world, but also highlighting the incredible women who have helped make McVicar such a success.

At McVicar we offer A Culture of Opportunity: it goes without saying that we strive to foster a culture that values diversity and inclusion, ensuring women have equal opportunities to thrive and reach their full potential. We love it that women not only achieve but smash that glass ceiling.

But we like to think that we go beyond words - and actively cultivate such a culture by our actions.

We're proud to share that at McVicar, currently 25% of our department heads are female, and see no reason why this number will not increase by the end of 2024 during our expansion programme. As we grow, so does our workforce, and of course our management structure. We actively seek to empower women in leadership roles across all areas of the company. It’s exciting times ahead!

How are McVicar preparing for this?

  • Internal training programs: Launched in the past year, these programs have yielded tremendous results, equipping women with the skills and knowledge needed to advance their careers.

  • Flexible work arrangements: We understand the importance of work-life balance, especially for women juggling family commitments.

  • Our attractive remuneration and bonus package is available for both full-time and part-time staff, allowing everyone to excel in their careers without compromising personal well-being.

How does McVicar value women in the workplace?

We believe in recognising and celebrating the contributions of all our employees, and women are no exception.

We strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment where women feel valued and respected, regardless of their position.

As a testament to this commitment, we are proud that we even have a female enforcement officer, a role traditionally underrepresented by women within the Debt Recovery industry. We believe this is innovative, but also highlights the success and determination of Women in what was traditionally seen as ‘A Mans world “ , showing that anything can be achieved through the right mindset, skill set , and training.

A success story to demonstrate?

The Debt recovery industry should, as we are at McVicar - be looking to welcome the vital skills and fresh ideas of young women in business today. Our own admin Manager joined us as a young apprentice, and brought with her an abundance of ideas , quickly proving invaluable within the team. Quickly rising through the ranks, recently promoted and striving to achieve, she daily continues to prove her capability.
